Risk management is tricky because the process involves subjective thinking on the part of individuals in the organization. The identification of risks is generally based on an individual's experience and knowledge of the system. Since experience and knowledge are unique to each individual, so at Kitty Hawk Aeronautics it is important to get a wide range of individuals on the risk management team. Areas of risk for IT projects at Kitty Hawk Aeronautics include areas e.g. lack of communication, schedule delays, loss of key personnel, budget reductions, new technology etc.

To minimize risk, we will be trying to control:

Development cycles from overruns, schedule delays, and poor technical performance
Control system complexity
Improve the communication among different teams and resolve the technical uncertainty
