Background/History
Kitty Hawk Aeronautics, Inc. (KHA) was
founded in 1981 during the Reagan era defense build-up, which spawned a
number of new technology companies providing products and services to
the Department of Defense (DOD). Headquartered in Elizabeth City, North
Carolina, KHA has grown to five locations throughout the U.S. that
include defense, space, and commercial aviation lines of business and
employ over 1,200 people. Primarily a manufacturer of high-quality
avionics and telemetry components, KHA also provides production and
after-market electronic assemblies and parts for aircraft and
spacecraft. KHA serves all defense services, NASA, the FAA, and
maintains business alliances with a number of leading aviation and
aerospace firms.
KHA's President and CEO is
Dwight Hendricks, who came to the company in 2005 after nearly 30 years
with Boeing Aircraft Corporation. Mr. Hendricks successfully let two
five-year strategic improvement programs that solidified and expanded
KHA's lines of business and revenue stream. One of the key features of
his first strategic improvement program (covering 2007-2010) is the use
of enterprise architecture (EA) approach to document current and future
corporate architectures in a way that integrates strategy, business, and
technology planning. |
